The Pinot Noir Grosses Gewächs Kirschgarten from Philipp Kuhnis a Pinot Noir of international format. Dense and gripping, but at the same time fruity with very well integrated wood. With a little air, a whole fruit basket of aromas opens up, primarily black currant and plum. On the tongue, additional cherry as well as savory flavors and some bitter tannin similar to black tea. On the finish, one almost suspects a slight sweetness, but this comes from the immensely ripe fruit and not from residual sugar. Very dryly developed, a wine that will be fun to drink for the next20 years.

The site Kirschgarten is the best site in Laumersheim. Characterized by limestone rock and black earth with lime marl on the surface, this site also benefits from its southeastern exposure. Yield reduction, hand-selected harvestingand gentle vinificationresult in this magnificent wine, which certainly deserves the designation „Großes Gewächs“.

Decanting recommended.

Goes well with hearty meat dishes and roasted dark meat.
