The Neprica Primitivois produced by Tormaresca, the company that bears the name and represents Antinoriin southern Italy. Founded in 1998, it is made up of two estates: BoccadiLupo, located in the Murgia Barese area and MasseriaMaime, located in the beating heart of Puglia, Salento. Antinori’s goal is precisely to enhance the Apulian terroir, which, despite having long been among the main producers of wine grapes on the peninsula, has never been able to fully express its identity. By cultivating only native vines in harmony and cohesion with the territory, in recent years the company has been contributing to the region’s winemaking renaissance, with an eye to the human factor and respect for tradition.
The Tormaresca Neprica Primitivois the result of the company’s attention to detail, enthusiasm, and passion and is produced with Primitivograpes. The best grapes, at the moment of maximum ripeness, are selected and harvested by hand and subsequently destemmed and softly pressed. The must is then transferred to steel tanks where the alcoholic fermentation takes place, lasting between 8 and 10 days at a controlled temperature not exceeding 26°C. Subsequently, still in stainless steel, the malolactic fermentationtakes place and is completed before the onset of winter. The refinementtakes place for 8 months in steeland then in the bottlefor another 4months. Of a purplish-red color, it has a pleasantly aromatic scent and taste, mainly of red fruit and with a good structure.
